Annually, we celebrate the cultural diversity at St. Anthony Nursery & Primary School, Kajjansi. This year on 22nd June 2018, we were privileged to learn about the various norms and beliefs of the various different tribes in our school. Many parents and care takers ignore the cultural norms and values but how happy is the young generation at St. Anthony to recognize their cultures!

In providing an all-round quality education, St. Anthony respects all cultures and this is true when it creates time for both staff and pupils to recognize and appreciate their cultures.

At the colorful ceremony officiated by the schools’ managing director, Gorreth Nanjeru Ssanyu all the school staff and pupils took time to learn and have fun since all cultures were given a platform to exhibit what happens in their cultures. Demonstrations included preparing staple foods, cultural dances, norms and values are presented.

In her message, Gorreth Nanjeru Ssanyu (the managing director) said the schools have been blessed to have children that come from different walks of life, different religions and cultural backgrounds. She was happy that these differences have used as a “resource” at St. Anthony Nursery & Primary Schools, Kajjansi. All staff and pupils have been given the opportunity to connect, share, collaborate, and learn from one another outside classroom! The more pupils are aware of other cultures, the more able they will be to recognize the beauty of diversity! Let’s embrace cultural diversity as it helps build tolerance, curiosity and respect for others.
