It is very important to teach children the fear of God and many people have it in their mind that it can only be done by religious leaders not knowing that it is every one’s responsibility. At St. Anthony, we encourage learners to do charitable work as part of God’s call and our response as well. The school helps its pupils to fulfill the oath (vows) made during their confirmation

as based on the Bible.

1. “Will you endeavor to feed the hungry, give the water to the thirsty, welcome strangers in your home, clothe the naked, care for the sick and visit the prisoners?” I will do so with God’s help.
2. “Will you pray and support the lonely, orphans, widows and the voiceless?” I will pray and support them. As stated in Matthew 25:35 – 40;
I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you received me in your homes, naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you took care of me. In prison and you visited me. The righteous will then answer Him, When, Lord, did we ever see you hungry and feed you or thirsty and give you a drink. When did we ever see you a stranger and welcome you in our homes or naked and clothe you. The king will reply, I tell you, whenever you did this for one of the least important of these members of my family, you did it for me.
It’s very crucial for us to help the little children do God’s will. Not forgetting the Muslims who are always encouraged to give zakat which is received by the needy. Food for thought: Always encourage the little ones to give because a giving hand is more blessed than a receiving hand.
