On 17th July 2018 pupils of primary seven and six classes at St. Anthony Nursery and Primary Schools, Kajjansi had an educational trip to Jinja. The tour included travel to places like Nytil Textiles where cotton is fabricated into clothes, the famous Masese Landing Site and the Jinja Annual Agricultural Show. A total of 395 pupils (two classes) traveled to Jinja with a team of twenty (20) teachers enjoying of the journey of 245 Km to & from school.
Mr. Moses Jjengo (Head of Social Studies) and Mr. Ismail Kalulu (Deputy Head – Academics Upper) emphasized to the learners that educational tours expand their learning through active hands-on experience with the rich resources of the local community. Educational tours also increase pupils’ knowledge and understanding of the subjects taught (especially Social Studies and Science) and add realism to the topics of study.
It was a day well spent as the pupils learnt about history, math, science, art and health – topics that are relevant to their classroom curriculum.
