Ever since I was a little girl, I have always enjoyed traveling. I love to see new places and make new friends. My name is Namubiru Melisa. I study at St. Anthony Nursery and Primary School, Kajjansi and I am in Primary Five Central.
At the beginning of term two, our teachers told us that we were to have a tour to Post Office – Entebbe on 20th July 2024. This made us very eager and excited about the tour.
On the day of the tour, we readied ourselves early enough. At 8:00am, we boarded the school buses, and everyone wanted to sit at the window so that they could see everything on the way. The journey to the Post Office was fun, and we were lucky to see the shores of Lake Victoria.
When we arrived at the Post Office, we were warmly welcomed by the postmistress who later introduced herself to us as Ms. Doreen Alupo. She requested us to enter the Post Office with her, which we did. While there, she taught us the importance of post office and took us through the procedure of sending and receiving letters. Not only did she teach us about posting letters but also told us how one can acquire a box number.
Finally, everyone was offered a stamp and allowed to post a letter. All pupils were excited to post letters to their parents, and this gave us a very good learning experience. We later enjoyed our cakes and sodas and then boarded our buses back to school. I appreciate our teachers who accompanied us to the Post Office, the School Administration and Management team for their innovation and facilitation.
